Frequently asked questions

* What is DDD?

DDD is an approach to software development based on Eric Evans book, "Domain Driven Design: Tackling complexity at the heart of software". DDD regards the problem domain as the main source of both value and complexity in software projects. To cope with this complexity and gain the most value from the customer's knowledge of the domain, DDD provides concepts, principles and techniques for designing software, 'driven' from the domain. Key concepts in DDD are the ubiquitous language and the domain model. A large part of DDD focuses on the design of the domain model from elementary building blocks such as Entities, Value Object, Factories and Domain services. The DDD book itself also describes system integration aspects of software developed with a DDD approach.

* What is DDD-NL?

DDD-NL is a group of DDD enthusiasts who organize events to discuss DDD and related subjects.

* What are the goals of DDD NL?

Our main goals are to organize events on DDD and develop the DDD community in the Netherlands.

* Who can join?

Everyone who is interested in or involved with DDD in software projects. Developers, product owners, architects, domain experts and customers are all welcome! In the future we would like to organize events that are interesting to people with a variety of project roles. Some examples of possible events could be: DDD implementation patterns, DDD from a product owners perspective, interviewing domain experts, DDD & scrum, DDD & technology, and so on. These events contain presentations and people can discuss insights, problems and ask questions about DDD.

* Who is involved in DDD NL?

Originally started by Allard Buijze and Jettro Coenradie from JTeam, DDD-NL now has around 30 registered members from various companies in the Netherlands.
